Emergency First aid at work- 1 Day

Our Emergency First Aid at Work training is a 1 day First Aid training aimed at providing the delegate with relevant knowledge on how to handle first aid related emergencies as an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace. If, an employer has identified that first-aiders are needed in their workplace, they must ensure that those identified to be first aiders undertake training appropriate to the need.

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

The course is assessed by (1) written exam, and continuous observation.

Course Content

• The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
• How to assess an incident
• Dealing with an emergency (assessing a casualty, monitoring a casualty, where to get help, electrical incidents)
• How to assess an unresponsive casualty
• Seizures, choking and fainting.
• How to manage a casualty who is bleeding (severe and minor)
• Accident recording and reporting.
• How to manage a casualty who is in shock
• Burns and scalds.

First Aid at work- 3 Day

The First Aid at Work course is for staff acting as the recognised first aider at work, companies with many staff, higher risk workplaces such as construction, manufacturing, and transport and those wanting a comprehensive course covering all major techniques and skills.

This course provides comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider at work, giving you both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.

If an employer has identified that first-aiders are needed in their workplace, they must ensure that those identified to be first aiders undertake training appropriate to the need.

Course Content

• The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
• How to assess an incident and conduct a secondary survey
• How to assess an unresponsive casualty
• How to manage a casualty who is bleeding (severe and minor) or in shock
• How to manage a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles, and joints or with suspected head, spinal injuries and/or chest injuries
• Seizures, choking, fainting and asthma
• Burns, scalds, and poisoning
• Eye injury
• Low blood sugar and severe allergic reactions
• Blood loss and shock.
• Performing Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
