Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Steel fixing Occupations
This course is for those of you who have underpinning qualifications or who have been working within the Steel fixing Occupations industry and have reached a level of competence which falls in line with NVQ Occupational Standards. This qualification will allow you to upgrade your Green CSCS card to blue skilled CSCS competency card.
Course Content
Units in our Steel Fixing NVQs include:
- Adhering to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
- Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace
- Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
Optional units include.
- Cutting and Bending reinforcement steel to shape in the Workplace.
- Fixing Steel in Situ in the Workplace.
- Prefabricating Reinforcement Steel Sections in the Workplace.
Method
- Once the enrolment process is complete, you will be paired with an assessor.
- The assessor will conduct the initial induction and will work with you to develop your portfolio and map out how each unit can be completed.
- Throughout the NVQ, the assessor will continuously review your progress to make sure that you are on track to completion.
- The assessor will monitor the learner through a variety of ways, such as written questions, professional discussions, evidence generated from the workplace, observations, and witness testimonials. The qualification course structure incorporates a selection of mandatory units.
- You will need to complete all the required units of the NVQ by providing sufficient evidence for each one.
- Once this has been completed the assessor will review your portfolio and follow up with any required feedback.
- Once you have acknowledged the feedback, the IQA will receive the portfolio.
- The IQA will have the final decision on whether the qualification is complete or if any additional evidence is needed.
All applicants must pass the Construction Skills health and safety test to achieve Blue Skilled CSCS Card
Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Formwork
This is a competence-based qualification designed to show that the learner has the relevant knowledge to be able to conduct their role as a Formwork Carpenter. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge, and competence so that you can work in Formwork within the construction industry or progress onto further learning. This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge required to conduct your job as a Formwork carpenter.
